The MVP is the most abused concept in startup culture. Founders use it to justify shipping half-built products and calling them experiments. A real MVP is the minimum needed to test a specific hypothesis, nothing more and nothing less. Ask instead: "Tell me about the last time you dealt with this problem. What did you do?" Let them talk. Your job is to listen, not to convince.

Sample size also matters. Ten interviews with people in your personal network is not validation. You need 15 to 20 interviews with people who match your actual target customer profile and who have no social reason to be nice to you. The discomfort of reaching out to strangers is exactly the point.
